Windshield wipers act strangely?

The other day it was raining but the wipers would not turn on. Later they started working on their own, but I could not turn them off no matter what I tried. Now they come on randomly. Sometimes they will turn off and other times they won't. I'm looking for suggestions on what may be causing this behavior.

These cars had a problem with the driver's side wiper motor. Here is how to change the unit out to help fix the problem. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.

The new motor costs over $200. Is there a way to test the old motor.

It is difficult to test the motor due to the circuit board.
