Used windshield wipers yesterday without any problems come home and my partner goes out and goes to use windshield wipers but they are not working when the switch is used.
It still sprays water out with switch though and I checked fuses and they are fine.

There is a recall for you vehicle with concerning the windshield wipers not working check this link from consumer reports http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2011/06/recall-2008-mazda3-windshield-wiper-issue/index.htm

So if that is the issue Mazda will fix it free of charge! Apparently the ground wire from the windshield wiper motor can oxidize and fail to complete the circuit which could stop it from turning on. If that is not the issue please come back and let us know! We are always here and ready to help!
