Have you checked the transmission fluid? Has the check engine light come on? Is the speedometer working properly?

The chexk engine light is on. And the.speedometer. sometimes doesn't function at all.

Have the computer scanned to determine if there are transmission trouble codes. As far as the speedo, it sounds like the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is bad and could be the cause of all your problems.
