When car is off a security light blinks it is a red car with a key in the middle. Now I am told many things cause this; steering lock, low battery in fob. Honestly I have no idea. Please help.

The security light is blinking because it is not accepting the transponder in the key you are using. If you have another key, I would try that first. Otherwise you are going to need the dealer scan tool to diagnose the issue and probably do some programming of new keys.

There may be an issue with using up the battery in the fob by leaving it in the car.
