I just bought this car about 3 weeks ago about 120 miles away from my home. As I am driving home I notice a few small sounds. I call the dealer and tell him about them, he says to bring it to his shop and he would fix them. It is there for two weeks before I get it back. Most of the noises are still there but now something new happens. After driving for about 100 miles and cruising at about 80 mph it makes a loud bang and jerks pretty hard. The radio also turns off and then about 20 seconds later it comes back on. I never lost power or speed. I thought maybe I just hit a small animal and didnt notice but it happend again about 20 miles later. What could this be?

You could have several problems. One is your transmission banging into gear? Do you have any warning messages on? Also as for the radio. The ICM is probably failing now. If you have it replaced you will need to load it with new software. Also did you buy this from a Volvo dealership? And what about the other noises? Are they creeking sounds while turning hard like when pulling out from a driveway? Let me know.
