Runs rough, check engine light flashes and there is a carbon/suet like smell from the exhaust. I changed the plugs and still no good

P0305 Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected

Hi there the P0300 is also a miss fire code, I would be checking leads, vacuum leaks, coil, faulty injector No % cylinder will be the main problem, a comp check would not hurt either.

Ignition coils always seem to fail on these cars. While running pull coil up slightly. You should hear it popping indicating it is firing. If you do not hear it popping then coil is no good. You should be carefull or you could get shocked and it hurts a lot :o
Another way you can check it is if you have a code reader. Swapp coil #5 and #4 reset the light and drive it. If the misfire goes to #4 and you get a PO304 then you know the coil is bad. Good luck and let me know what happens.
