Electrical problem
1992 Volvo 940 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

This is about my '92 Volvo 940 car that the overdrive light will not go out. I think I may have solve my car's problem where the overdrive relay is causing the overdrive arrow to remain on even when I press the overdrive switch pushbutton on the shifter. Where is the OD Relay located? I think it is above the fuses on the central electrical unit behind the ashtray in the center console? Am I right? And also is this OD relay labelled or do I have to purchase a service manual to find the location? Please help? Also do you think it can be the overdrive switch on pushbutton shifter? I'm debating which is more likely the bad part?

Hi
I had the exact same problem on my 1993 940. I removed the ashtray, and all the relays are right behind it.
The overdrive relay is on the right hand side. It is white. I pulled mine out, cleaned the terminals, and re-installed. I no longer have the problem, but just to be safe, I ordered another on ebay.. it was about 25.00..
There is one other relay on there right now, so check it out! The part number is 3523804
Here is the picture from the item I bought..
