Brakes problem
1997 Volvo 850 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I am ready to put the rear brake calipers back together when I noticed that the rubber boots are cracked. I have located a company (partsforvolvosonline. Com) and they list the seals and boots for my car as being 40mm brake pistons. I have carfully measured the pistons, serveral times, and found that they are 38mm dia. The people at the on line store and myself are confused. Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you.

DEPENDING ON HOW YOU WANT TO FIX IT, IF YOU WANT TO FIX IT RIGHT, MY SUGGESTION IS THAT YOU BUY THE ASSEMBLY FROM A DEALER. IT ALL COMES TOGETHER IN THE CALIPER ASSEMBLY. SAVES THE TROUBLE OF HAVING TO TRY AND REPAIR AN OLD CALIPER THAT PROBABLY NEEDS REPLACEMENT ANYWAY
