1999 Volkswagen Passat 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

Are there any tricks to replacing therear brake pads and rotors on my 1999 VW Passat? Any special tools needed? Would you recommend a non expert take on the job?

Its not a hard job to do. The only special tool you might need is one to get the caliper pistons back in. The caliper pistion might have grooves in it to insert a special tool. You have to push and turn clockwise to get the piston back in. I think autozone has one that can be loaned. Make sure you clean and lube the moving components. HTH.
