1974 Beetle Generator Light

I have a 1974 beetle, I just replaced the master cylinder and wheel cylinders and floor pans. I now noticed that the generator light comes on, after running for a while and building the RPM's the generator light goes off, but then the brake lights come on, but are dim. When you step on the brakes they get bright. What is going on?

I can't really understand what you're saying. But sometimes a blown fuse would do make the generator light come on in this year. That doesn't explain it going off, but then I'm not sure what you're saying. Check the fuses and rephrase your question.
