I was wondering how you change an ignition coil pack in a 2001 jetta. The coil is with 4 in a row and not the one with 2 on each side. Can you provide me with steps on how to change this. Thanks for your help

I know this is an old post, but if someone else is reading this.

If the engine has a Secondary Air Injection Pump, the pump will be
mounted above the ignition coil, and will need to be removed for
easier access to the ignition coil.

The SAI Pump bracket is mounted to the engine via 3 6mm allen bolts.

Remove those 3 bolts and move the pump to the side (disconnect
the wiring if need be).

The ignition coil is held in place via 3 10mm hex screws or 5mm
allen bolts.

Un-clip the harness plug from the side of the coil (push tab in
and pull up on connector). Transfer one ignition wire at a time
so that you do not mix-up the firing order.
