I've seen many postings on the internet for this common issue or problem with the VR6 Jetta.

I want to be able to check the computer engine codes and clear them out myself.

What is the best computer code reader for this make and model of car?

Also, Where can I get a diagram of all the O2 sensors for this car. I want to know where every flipping sensor is located.

Ok scanners can be kinda hard to understand what to buy. So what you need to know is what you want a scanner to do and what vehicles do you have to scan as well. Do you have any OBD1 or Can1 or 2 systems to scan as well as your OBD2 on the jetta? You can get a good scanner that will do both OBD1 and 2 with can and european 96 to pressent for about 280. So it just a matter of reading up on the scan tool that you are wanting to make sure it will do what you want. Some are also internet updatable and have on screen discriptions and some dont so just read up and buy the one that does what you want and need out of it. If you click on the link below it will take to a place where you can look and buy. As for the O2 sensors the best thing to do here is buy a Haynes Repair Manual on you car they give good discriptions and walk through codes and how to fix and test and so on. The O2 sensors are one or two infront of cat and one or two behind cat in exhaust pipe. How many O2's depends on how you exhaust is set up as far as single or dual.
