Hi,

When it is in park, it should be the same as neutral. I just need to confirm there is a vibration in park. Also, is the check engine light staying on when the engine is running? If it is, then we likely have a misfire or other engine issue causing a rough idle.

When you drive the vehicle, is the vibration noticeable when the engine is under a load?

Let me know as much as you can.

Take care,

Joe

Okay. So, the idle is the same in park and in neutral. When I throw it in park though it feels as if it wants to shut off but doesn't. When it's in drive and I'm stopped the vibrations are bad. Yes, check the engine light is on.

Hi,

This can be caused by a few different things. First, it may need a tune-up. Also, things like engine vacuum leaks, fuel pressure-related issues, or even engine compression (239,000 miles) can cause it.

The easiest things to check for are vacuum leaks.

Here is a link that explains how to locate and repair one:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-use-an-engine-vacuum-gauge

The other things will require a bit more time to check. So, what I suggest is to have the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. Most parts stores will do it free of charge. I would recommend that regardless of what is found as far as vacuum leaks. That way, if there is a code, we will have a better understanding of the possible cause.

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
