2004 Vauxhall Corsa Two Wheel Drive Manual 24000 miles

Firstly oil light went on, and ont he way to work the engine kept cutting out and the battery and eps light kept coming on whenever the engine cut out (It would stall whenever I stopped at traffic lights etc) I then got to work and let the engine cool down as it was a hot day, then I put oil in it. It was fine to driving home but then about 10 minutes into the journey the engine felt like it was going to stall and it cut out a few times and would not go anywhere unless it was in 1st or 2nd gear. Also, lots of white smoke was coming out of the exhaust which smelt like burning oil.
Please help!

Hi there,

Best you check your coolant level as whit smoke is an indication of coolant in the combustion this could be a head gasket or cracked head, also run a scan and check for set fault codes report back any findings her for more assistance.

Hi there,

this will depend on the severity of the problem, normally a head gasket problem will induce a rough idle, if two cylinders are involved the engine would be more inclined to stall at idle speed.
