USING AN OBD2 SCANNER ON MY 1997 Saturn SL2

When the scanner is connected to the under-dash port in my Saturn, it doesn't even turn on. The connection appears to be fine, with compatible connectors on both car (under dash, driver's side), and the scanner. The ignition is in the on position. The scanner works fine in my other cars. But when it's connected in the Saturn, it remains off. No readout, no codes, no nothing. What can this possibly be? Thank you.

See if the body fuse is blown in the inside fuse box?

To saturntech9:
Thank you so much for your response to my question of June 5th. You were absolutely correct about the problem being caused by a blown body fuse. I had no idea there was a body fuse! Problem solved; no codes came up on the scan, and all is right with my world. I love 2carpros. Com. From jamiea.
