Truck was stolen and driven into a pond. Water touched the bottom of the dash. Changed the BCM but cannot get the scan module to change the keys to communicate with the BCM.

Hello, I am Danny.

Just a few quick questions before we get started. You did not mention if truck is a 6.2L or 6.7L, it makes a difference when looking up wiring diagrams. If truck is not starting do you have a "Starting System Failure" in the Message Center? Communication not being made to the BCM can be caused by no signal from the (P.A.T.S) Passive Anti-Theft System. Lastly, you said Scan Module cannot reprogram keys or can you not get a Scan Tool to diagnose/reprogram/test the systems? Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.

Thank you for the reply. It is a 6.2L (gas). There is no message in the message center. I reviewed this information with the shop this morning and this is their reply. PATS identifier will not program to PCM when you perform the parameter reset. Thanks in advance for any insight to my problem. We have also tried replacing the main computer.

Hello again.

Talked to one of my go-to electrical guys at his Auto Electric shop when I get stumped. He stated there is no way around taking it to the Ford dealer. You have to use the Ford factory scan tool to make it all work. They might even have to call Ford directly for data/parameters/etc. Hope it works out. Sorry to bear the bad news. Keep us updated and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Thanks for the information, but I have already been there and they told me that I would have to replace all the wiring.
