5A fuse for my trunk keeps blowing?

The 5A fuse for my trunk keeps blowing and it’ll be good for about a week, then it’ll blow again. Now I’m also having trouble closing the trunk. What keeps causing the fuse to blow and why am I just now having a problem with closing the trunk?

This happens when the trunk latch is going bad, here is how to change it out for a new unit. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.
