Driving down interstate around seventy five mph my car acts as if it was in neutral. I pulled over checked fluid and drive shaft. Towed it home talked to mechanics. Told them the code it pulled (P0894) and that I have had no problems from the transmission. I changed fluid and filter around 8,000 miles ago. I had a rebuilt 4L60E installed and it is still doing the same thing. I have gone through the gears to circulate the fluid. I have checked linkage all fuses. Fluid is at correct level. Any advice?

Good afternoon.

The 894 possibilities are below.

When you replaced the transmission, was the torque converter changed as well?

Okay, did they re flash the transmission control module?

The next step is to do pressure tests on the transmission to see if the front pump is working.

Did you get a warranty with this transmission?

Even if it was the flash, it would still engage in gear. The flashing would control shifting.

The issue is mechanical since it will not engage into gear.

Do you have a set of gauges to do some pressure test?

No I do not have the gauges. Would there be any electronic module or the internal wiring harness?

No, even if there was, it would still go into gear. It is a mechanical issue.

Did you install it yourself or did someone do it for you?

Yes, but it should go into reverse and drive and move. There are no electronics for that. It is mechanical.

It sounds like you have a bad transmission. I would call the supplier and tell them.
