My transmission is leaking but I'm not sure where. I'm trying to find the leak but I'm having trouble finding it. It's leaking from the passenger side near the front. I get a small puddle underneath the passenger side after being parked for hours. Can someone tell me what could be leaking? Where should I look?I would like to fix it myself. I did notice a small black round piece hanging from a metal hose that comes from the transmission when I followed it to the driver's side I see it (the black piece) but I can't find where the other side goes to.

Can you get a picture of this hose that you are talking about? I suspect the hose is a cooler line but we need to see it to confirm that. The best way to find where this is leaking is to use a grease cutting cleaner and spray off the underneath so that you are starting with a clean surface. Then drive the vehicle and start looking under it on that side to see if you can find the origination point. I suspect this is an axle seal but clearly that is a guess at this point.

Let us know if you have questions and we can go from there.

I think that's a cooler line as well but it's dripping in that area.

Hello, I'm Danny.

Just to add my 2 cents after looking at the picture you provided it looks like the lock clip is missing. If so, any rattles, vibration, bumps, etc, it could cause the metal line to be leaking. Make sure the o-ring on the metal line is not damaged and the retainer clip is installed to secure the line in place. I've attached your picture and circled in red where the groove is for the clip. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Okay, so the picture was actually older that I took. The clip was in there and the o-ring is bad. I got another connector but it was 800-614 and I needed 800-619 for my vehicle. Didn't even look at the part and spent like an hour trying to figure out why this piece won't screw in, lol. I have the right connector now and will attempt to fix it tonight. Hopefully that is the cause of my leak.

Hello again.

If the o-ring is deformed, cut, smashed, or having any other damage it will leak. It is under very high pressure and only held in with that clip. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Okay, so I changed the connector to the new one and it's still leaking pretty good. It's leaking at the little rubber piece at the bottom of the radiator. It's coming from somewhere though. I'm not sure. I cleaned it off but can't tell where it's leaking from. I know for sure it's not coming from the transmission. I checked both of those connectors.

Hello again.

Did you change the o-ring on the metal line or the connector into the radiator? I've attached your picture below. If not leaking out of the connector did you happen to notice if leaking from the connector where it screws into the radiator?
Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Yeah, see the bolt has a washer attached to it now and it's dripping from a spot closer to the middle of the passenger side. I'm gonna go take a picture.

Oh nevermind, I've found the leak. It's leaking at the top of the radiator. The connector at the top is leaking. That would explain the lower hose being wet and other things. Thanks for the help!
