I changed out my transmission fluid and I had metal shavings by the megnet. I done several transmission fluid changes on my other car and never seen it like this.

Good afternoon.

The metal you see is normal wear and tear. There will always be some metal on the magnet. That is why they put a magnet on the pan to start.

Thank you for your response.

If I wanted to get the old fluid out of the torgue converter. Should I drive it another 200 miles and drop the pan?

You could do that, yes.

Or you could take it somewhere and have them do fluid exchange, not a flush. That will get all the fluid out of the converter.
