Car drives a little while then the transmission stops shifting gears

I would put the car in drive Then it drives a little while then transmission stop switching gears. Turn car off turn back on it would drive. Then I would have to do the same thing again.

Hi:

Is the fluid clean and full? This could be something as simple as a partially plugged filter. When you turn it off, dirt can settle back into the pan. When it is running, the fluid circulates again and can cause the filter to plug and drop line pressure in the system.

Here are directions specific to your vehicle for checking fluid condition and level. The attached pictures correlate with the directions.
