Is it okay to keep driving a vehicle with a check engine light on with a code P0705 transmission range sensor (circuit A) malfunction? Will any serious damage start to occur?

Good morning.

It could cause shifting issues as well as hard shift and engagements.

It may or may not be the transmission range circuit. Tests need to be done to confirm.

A 5.4 triton 2V engine with 180,000 miles on it, will it be a good idea to find a additive that can break up carbon around the piston rings?

There is no additive that will do this.
