Hi Saltydawg5,

Normally when a vehicle only has reverse it is an issue internal to the transmission. For the most part, it is unlikely that all the forward gears failed at the same time. However, what failed was the control system or the valve-body. The purpose of the valve-body is to direct/control the fluid flow in order to apply the commanded gear. The valve-body can be tested by using a scan tool to scan for any codes and then monitor the pressure and which solenoid/gear is being applied. When they are applied the transmission should respond. If it does not then the valve-body or individual solenoid is your issue.

If you get the vehicle scanned for DTCs and let me know what they are, I bet we can limit it down to a specific part. Any part store will scan vehicles for DTC free of charge. Once we know what they are we can go from there.

Thanks
