Started having transmission trouble, not slippage, it would not shift out of first. I replaced the transmission filter and refilled to no avail. I have been attempting to change the the speed sensor but have been finding no continuity between where the sensor is or what it looks like. Any information you can give me would be much appreciated.

Good morning,

Does your speedometer work? If it does, it is not the speed sensor.

A common issue for this problem is the governor. It is at the back of the transmission on the drivers side under a round cover. It just pulls out. There is a plastic gear on the end that wears out the teeth and it does not turn.

I would look at that first.

Refer to "Service Bulletins" section prior to performing the following procedure.
1. Raise and support vehicle
2. If necessary, remove exhaust system.
3. Remove governor cover from case using extreme care not to damage cover. If cover is damaged, it should be replaced.
4. Remove governor.
5. Reverse procedure to install and check fluid level.

It was the governor. Thanks. Unfortunately, the plastic bit broke off inside. Any suggestions?

I would drop the pan and see if the debris is in the pan.

It is still in the hole where the governor came out. I can see it, I am unsure how to get it out.
