I replaced my transfer case control motor because the old one would want to try and shift from 4wd low to 4wd high whenever it wanted to. Now before I bolted on the new one, I plugged it in and the wheel inside seemed to move just fine. I bolted it on and turned to 4wd low. Seemed to go in fine but the light kept flashing. When I turned it to 4wd lock the light just flashed. Then when I switched to 2wd both 4wd hi and low light flashed and would not go back to 2wd. I removed the motor and manually turned the spline to the 2wd position. When I looked at the motor again just being plugging in and not mounted, the wheel did not move, just heard the actuator sounding like it wanted to change positions. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong or not doing correctly? Thanks in advance

Take a look at the attached removal and installation procedures. The removal procedure instructs you to manually shift the transfer case into the 2wd position prior to installation of the new shift motor. New motors are shipped in the 2wd position, so the transfer case must be aligned so they match up. If this wasn't done, it's likely the shift motor is now out of sync. The only way I'm aware of to correct this is to get another shift motor.
