I was with some friends and they said that their car's tpms light was on. My father and I checked the pressure of the tires and they were fine, except the front left tire was of by five psi or so. He took the car for a ten minute ride and it would not go off, we need help with what we should do next.

If you have your manual look in that and it will tell you how to reset it manually. However if you reset it and light is still on I tmay be a tire sensor is bad.

Just to add to this one there are tire pressure sensors in each tire. Make sure you use a accurate tire pressure gauge to set the pressure to what is on the drivers door label. If the light does not go out you will have to get the tpms system scanned for codes. There is a good chance you have a bad sensor if the light does not go out.
