I have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma 2wd 2.4. I bought it used, and it came with a aftermarket radio power amp under the seat. I removed the amp and taped the electrical wires. Later down the road the wires shorted and smoked fill the cab as I was driving. After turning off the engine, I realized what happened. I ripped out the electrical wires that fed the power amp and realized that the person before me hooked it up to the ecu 15amp fuse instead of the 7.5 amp radio fuse. So far the odometer, blinkers, windshield wipers, and starter will not work. I can jump start it by popping the clutch, and the engine will run fine. As the engine runs by jump starting it tells me that the ecu is working fine? What should I do first?

This one is tough to answer over the net, if you're not good in electrical, my suggestion bring it to the pros, you have a wiring problem that involves different circuitry. My guess here is a wiring problem fused together
