2007 Toyota Sienna Front Wheel Drive Automatic 34583 miles

Hi, I just had brake pads put all around my van and while driving it the next day I kept hearing noise from the right front and right back that wasn't there before. Checked lugnuts and they were on tight. Checked shocks, ok. Major company I took it back to said it was the shims on the brake pads. I had never heard of shims on braked pads and looked this up. Yep, there they are. Obviously they hadn't put them back on correctly and tightened them up, and would this hurt the new pads or the rotors? Was I in danger?

Will cause no harm to pads or rotors. Or endanger your life unless you ahve sensitive ears or a issue with nerves and the sound scared you to death.

The shims are just there for quiting the brakes. Thats it.
