I had my front brakes repaired yesterday on my 2001 RAV 4. They replaced the break pads and ground the rotars. I was charged 200 dollars...Do you think this is a reasonable price.

Also, I noticed on the invoice they say 2002 Toyota and mine is 2001. Can you tell me if both these years had the same brake mechanisms or is it possible they installed the wrong pads...Maybe this sounds like a dumb question...sorry

First of all, there is no such thing as a dumb question. Yes, $200 isnt that far out of range, if they used the factory pads the cost can reach that. There are cheaper pads out there, but in Toyotas you are best off with OE pads which can cost quite a bit more. The year of your vehicle is on the white sticker on the inside of your drivers door frame. It will have the exact production date of your vehicle on it.If yours was made on say 10-10-01 it would be an 02 body/engine regardless of model year it was sold as. Imports usually go from about September on to be the next model year
