1998 Toyota RAV4

RAV "chokes" upon starting after having sat for atleast 5 hours (over night or after work); If I tap the gas pedal before attempting to start it is okay, but if I forget to, it strts but then sputters/chokes. Sometimes I have to press the gas WHILE starting for it to 'catch'

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

I would start with a scan to check for any unresolved fault codes, this may be a sensor acting up. Possibly a coolant temp sensor, start here.
