2005 Other Toyota Models Broken tension Bolt

I recently had the serpentine belt replaced in my Toyota Matrix, and today, the tension bolt broke. I am wondering if the people that replaced the belt could have done something improper that would have caused the bolt to break. From what I understand, this is an unusual repair to need, especially with a three year old car.

Hi there,

This is hard to say, they may have over tensioned this bolt or it just may have had a fault which is not all that uncommon, there will be a set torque for this bolt may be you can ask them if they set it that way.
