2004 Other Toyota Models Repair Tailgate Latch

The plastic squeeze handle that opens the tailgate on my sequoia broke when I was trying to open the tailgate.
How do I open the tailgate to replace this latch?

I had the same thing on my 2003 Sequoia. I had to reach up into the hole beside the latch handle and get ahold of the cable that runs down to the latch. If you can get ahold of it and pull it it should unlatch the tail gate.

How can I get the rear hatch open to replace the rear door latch? My rear window is out of service and my keys will not operate the hatch or the window. I am not able to open the hatch from the inside to remove the hatch door panel.
