My car is Toyota Vitz. Mileage: 45120km. Manufactured in 2000 March. During last winter I used to park my car in a garage which doesn't have any heating system. I know it's bad for car, but I didn't have any choice. At that time the CHECK ENGINE light used to remain on while I drive. I thought that's because of cold condition. But now it already got warm outside, however that light still remains on, which makes me really worry about my car. I went to the local repair shop to find out the problem, they said the spark plugs caused the problem. But that didn't work, still the light is on. At the repair shop I changed the spark plugs, engine oil and oil filter. Please give me an advice to deal with my car. Thank you.

Hi there,

You will have to get the fault code read and the code extracted this will give a unique code number that will correspond with the faulty item. Get this code extracted first.

P0505 relates to the idle air control valve -try cleaning it out and see what happens if it continues could be the valve itself-
