my check engine light came on today and the engine started to shake, it shakes even more when I put the car in drive and drive it, but not as much as when I press on the break. When I checked the oil it was dry I think I might have an oil leak b/c I just got an oil change, but when I noticed the problem I just put a whole gallon of oil in the car and it is still happening. I dont know what the problem is or what to do please help.

You can go to an autoparts store and get the codes read for free. This will give you a starting point.

But the bigger problem is running the engine dry of oil, you should have seen an oil warning light on the dash, and a lot of valve noise.

If you have an oil leak that drops 4 quarts, you should see a significant puddle of oil under the car, and oil on the bottom of the engine.

Also do not overfill the engine with oil.
