2002 Toyota Corolla Eng loses power

Every time it rains and I go thru puddle the car hesitates and loses power momentarily; I do not see any obvious lose wires under chasis. What could it be?

Could be the crankshaft position sensor getting wet and shorting out momentarily.

Also check the plastic shields under the car. Looking for loose/broken pieces or holes in them.
They are called stone guards, but they also protect the lower engine and electrical from water intrusion.
