code P0505 showing idol control malfunction- how do we fix this

Remove and clean the IAC (idle air control valve).

If problem persists, then have Idle control system checked by Toyota, or trusted garage since this error is not specific to valve but an idle system malfunction.

The IAC is about $260, so no sense throwing parts at it until you know the problem.
