Engine Performance problem
2000 Toyota Corolla Front Wheel Drive Manual 80,000 miles

Hi there,
I have recently bought a w-reg (2000) Toyota Corolla 1.4l twin cam 16v. Yesterday the Malfuntion Indicator Light came on when I started the engine, it stays on until I switch off again. Do you know what this light means??
The car has been running fine apart from the power dips about 3-4000rpm in 1st & 2nd gear, although this is not every time?

You would have to get the PCM scanned with a scan tool and get the error coded.

Most autoparts stores do this for free, could be a bad sensor, but you will have to get it scanned to find out.
