My motor makes a high pitched whining noise when it's cold only. It sounds like from the best I can tell it's coming from the timing belt cam gear and or valve train area. It sounds like a metal on metal noise and it goes up and down with engine revolutions.
The car runs fine and strong.

Hi there,

I would be thinking that the cam belt idler bearing may have failed, i would get this checked ASAP as if it locks up and snaps a timing belt you will do internal engine damage.
