Mine is a slightly different year, but Im sure they are pretty simular.

First, Locate the alternator, On my toyota it is on the bottom passenger side of the engine. Their may be a plastic guard below the engine, you can remove it with a few bolts. There will be 2 connectors on the back of the alternator, one is a clip and one is a bolted wire. Remove both of them, Towards the top of the alternator there will be a bolt connected on a slider, you will have to remove it, and it will loosen and you will be able to take the belts off of the alternator. Now, remove the last bolt, it goes from the front of the alternator all the way to the back, It may be a little tight. Now, drop your alternator out, hopefully not on your hand. Do the same except in reverse order for you new alternator. Make sure you get the belts tight when you reinstall it.

Also, I have had problems getting the alternators back in. The reason is some of the compressed fittings that hook to the block are to close together and you cannot get them over the bracket. If this happens you can usually move the fitting with a hammer if it comes to that. I had to, just make sure not to mess anything up.
