We had just replaced the transmission in our vehicle. When we started it up, it runs great, once we put it in gear to drive it the speedo needle bounces from zero to 140 and it has issues trying to shift. What could this be?

Hi nikivida1,

Most probably the speed sensor is faulty or is not securely connected. Without the correct speed sensing the trans would shift erratically.

Is the check engine light showing?
Did you try to retrieve for trouble codes.
