I am having problems trying to remove the main crank damper bolt or harmonic balancer bolt in order to replace the timing belt. I have tried a large braker bar and pipe on the front bolt while someone holds a screwdriver (even tried with a gorilla bar) holding the flywheel solid with starter removed. The flywheel teeth just jump each time. I have tried 3 different impact wrenches (all were 1/2 inch drive) even the ingrasol rand, but nothing will brake this bolt loose. I am hoping this is a right hand thread since nothing I have found including they haynes motor manual indicates this bold is a left hand thread. I just can't get it loose in order to remove the lower cover and timing belt.
Any ideas? Should I try heating the bolt with a torch? Or what?

Hi there,

This is a R/H thread, and yes it is very tight, you may have to drive it to a truck tyre work shop and get them to loosen it off for you, nip it up by hand just to get you home.
