Transmission problem
2000 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Automatic 200500 miles

As I'm trying to accelerate whether coming from a complete stop or just accelerating in speed, the RPM increases but my car hesitates and then kicks in and picks up speed. I just changed the fuel filter and air filter but that didn't solve my problem. Could it be that I maybe need a tune up, I'm pretty sure that it's been about two years or so since I've had one or is it most likely the transmission?

Hello,

Well if it has been 2 years or so for a tuneup it is probably time for one.

However, don't think that is your problem, when was your last transmission service?

Is your check engine light on? If so go by your local AutoZone and they will pull them for free. Post codes here in forum.

Hello obxautomedic,

Hopefully this is the correct way to respond to your advise. This is my 1st time ever participating in online forums.

Thank you for the advise however I had already taken my car to a transimssion shop in Baytown Tx before getting your response. I heard he's on the radio in the mornings, is "AAA" recognized and is really good at what he does and will be very honest with you and not try to get over on you. Anyway, he said that it's not my transmission and that the problem is with my motor. So I'm going to go ahead and get a tune up. Hopefully that's will fix the problem. Thanks for your help.
