Engine Cooling problem
1992 Toyota Camry 6 cyl Automatic 138000 miles

purchased car in july 09 for the 8 mile round trip to work. Around october temp gauge started to spike to h when engine warmed up. Put in neutral and engine reved temp would back down to normal. My mechanic changed radiator, which was clogged. Car ran great, until late january. Same thing started to happen again. Temp sensor was changed, fan is running properly, water pump was checked and is fine as is the timing belt. My mechanic is stumped. Please help!

Has anyone check or changed the thermostat? Has a chemical test been done on the radiator? A chemical test is where a chemical is put in a tube that is placed on the radiator without the radiator cap on and it changes color if there is combustion gases in the radiator. Also has the radiator cap been pressure tested? Let me know what you find.

This just happens when the car is running idle in drive, like at a light, but anyway, as far as I know everything
was checked, thermostat was changed, I left the car there for 2 days, they everything but pull the engine. He thought maybe the engine had a crack?

Ok either it is not circulating or it is a crack, maybe in the head, a chemical test will answer this without question. If you mechanic can't run this test or don't know what it is, then find one that can this will without a question answer this.
