1992 Toyota Camry 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

First off, you dont know how greatful I am of your website, you have helped me determine what many of my problems have been, Thank You!

But this one has stumped me.

My horn likes to chirp when it feels like it, randomly driving down the road, when rolling up or down a window sometimes, and even opening or shutting the doors.

It also ticks inside the car when I honk.

I soon found out there was an alarm installed on it by a previous owner. And thought it may be a shock sensor. I found an interesting switch by the driver side door just under the fuse panel, I switched it off, and nothing happened, still chirping.

then I searched for the relay box and disconnected it, still nothing, still chirping!

What can this be?

Hi Tnyearta,

The horn and alarm should be using different sounding equipment, horn = horn units, alarm = alarm siren.

Check if the steering horn pads are loose. It could be a broken spring resulting in self contact of the points to activate the horn.
