2003 Toyota 4Runner replacing tensioner

I want to replace the V belt tensioner and would like to know how to release the tension on the belt

Hi Dolinar,

If it is a single serpentine belt with automatic self adjust tensioner, use a 19mm ring spanner on the hex head on tensioner arm and twist clockwise to release tension.

Remember to note belt routing before taking off.
