Im a college student and as you can probabally guess im trying to do this cheaply, thus im looking to do installation myself if possible. I have a set of 4 new Procomp ES9000 shocks im looking to put into my 1998 toyota 4runner 4X4, I also have a Daystar 2.5" Lift I will be installing as well. I am a fairly good mechanic, replace brakes, wiring, bumpers, etc. Is this a DIY job without any tools like a shock/spring compressor, or do I need to take it to a shop and spend nearly $400 + more?

Hi mtrhed,

Thank you for the donation.

Without the spring compressors I doubt it would be possible to replace the coil springs, unless your new struts comes as complete assy.

You would need something to lift up and hold the body to install the lift units too.

If you got the tools and equipment, should not be a problem for you to handle.

Hi mtrhed,

You are welcomed.

Btw I understand that there are some places that rents out tools and equipments, maybe that would be more fun and cheaper.
