1996 Toyota 4Runner Head gasket

The engine is a rebuilt 70000 miles ago. It has started overheating. I was told it is the headgasket, but they performed no test. The engine performs well and it takes a long time for it to overheat. I thought it may only be a thermostat.

First inspect coolant to ensure it is at proper level. Check for any coolant leaks. If OK, inspect thermostat. To learn how to check a thermostat follow the link below..
