1996 Toyota 4Runner Check engine light

Check engine light came on yesterday. Car was driving great. Just got back from a 6hr. Road trip with the light triggered, no problems. While on my trip got caught in some heavy flooding in downtown streets. Could this have triggered light? Also, I usuallly tighten gas cap two clicks, good enough?

Hi there,
This may be an issue to do with the water. Just get a scan first and see what the code is. Then we can look at possibilities. As far as the fuel cap goes. The clicks are just the locking mechanism 2. 3 5 won't make any difference.
