I have a 4 runner that is pretty old. I have no idea whats wrong with it. I got it in a trade. The truck starts but once I let go of the gas it turns off, even if I hold the clutch. Also if I leave my battery in there and come back the next day. I find it dead, do you think maybe its just cause I have bad batteries or, I have tried two different old ones already. I thought it might be the alternator but still would that cause the truck to stop if I let go of the gas?

If you haven't fixed this already. You might want to take the alternator off and get it tested ( AutoZone or somewhere ) they test it Free. As for the truck cutting out when you take your foot off the gas - you could check for a vacuum leak or maybe clogged fuel filter / air filter. It could be a number of things, but I'd check there first.
