Took to mechanic, he has had it for three months to replace timing chain, said chain damaged valves and had to go to machine shop. Did all that now he put a used engine in truck without my consent because he said machine shop messed up. Does that make sense?

Hello,

Yes, it does, believe it or not. But, the mechanic cannot make any repairs without your prior consent. He should have kept you informed and let you make the decision on what to do. Is he offering any kind of warranty on this used engine? Get back to us with what you find out, please.

Thanks,
Alex
